Ximenes Avenue, formerly Edward Ximenes Avenue[1] and one of the original roads on campus,[2] intersects with UTSA Blvd. to form the most prominent Main Campus entrance from the south. It meets Ford Road and then divides the Ximenes Avenue parking Lot from Brackenridge Road Lot 1. At its intersection with Brackenridge Road, it features one of the two visitor booths on campus and the only one accessible from the south side of campus. It also grants access to the loading area behind University Center Phase III.[3]

Edward Treviño Ximenes, M.D. served on the UT System Board of Regents from July 1967 to January 1971. He was from San Antonio and was appointed by Governor Connally.[4]
