Roadrunner Days is the name for the series of events during the beginning of each academic year that are meant to spur campus life, make new students feel welcome, and get returning students excited about the new year. They are not hosted by any one particular office, but Student Activities is a major driving force behind it. Other offices that often host events are Campus Recreation, Inclusion and Community Engagement, and the Office of the President.
Prior to 2005, Roadrunner Days was called Week of Welcome. In 2004, the beginning of the school year was moved from Monday to Wednesday so that incoming freshmen could attend certain mandatory events known as "Rowdy Days". For 2005, the concepts of Rowdy Days and Week of Welcome were merged into the current model of Roadrunner Days.[1]
