UTSA Roadrunners Football is an NCAA Division I American football program that plays for the university at the Alamodome. The program started its inaugural season during the 2011-2012 academic year. Football at UTSA has been a topic of speculation since the university's formative years. Arleigh B. Templeton, the first president of the school, told hopeful fans in 1971 that the university would not see football for quite some time.[1]
