The Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building (abbreviated BSEB) is one of UTSA Main Campus's newest research facilities. It has the first Einstein Bros. Bagels store in San Antonio[3] and is notable for the design of its vast central lobby. The lobby features a quote by eminent physicist Albert Einstein, "There are two ways to live your life, as though everything is a miracle or as though nothing is a miracle." It is unclear whether the juxtaposition of both Einsteins was intentional.
The 227,000 sq. ft. building cost $83.7 million[2][4] and was dedicated on February 10, 2006 in a ceremony keynoted by UT System Chancellor Mark Yudof.[1] It was designed by FKP Architects Inc. out of Houston and received the Education Design Showcase 2006 award.[5]
