The Arts Building is one of the buildings that opened with the opening of the Main Campus in 1975. It houses the Department of Music and the Department of Art and Art History, with one half of the building essentially being the art half and one half being the music half. It features an art gallery which is open near the middle of the day that showcases the art of UTSA students and other artists. It also features a recital hall where music concerts are often held.

A bust of late Mr. UTSA Joseph Brown resides in the hallway of the music side of the building.
