A Special Election for SGA was held on January 19-20, 2010 as a result of the sudden resignation of the then Student Body Treasurer Christopher "Chris" Kuta, who went on to attend classes at Texas State. Under the 2006 SGA Constitution, a vacancy in either the President, Vice-President, Treasurer or Secretary roles must be filled by a special election. Kort "KJ" Jackson and Kristina Henbest filed for the election, with Kort "KJ" Jackson ultimately prevailing.
November 2009: Treasurer Chris Kuta resigns.
December 2009: Filing Deadline passes with 2 candidates filing, election is postponed to January 19-20, 2010 due to finals and winter break.
January 2010: Kort "KJ" Jackson prevails in election, becoming the new Student Body Treasurer for the remainder of the 2009-10 term.
